REVIEW + BRAINSTORM

  


Good morning my dear kids, today we are going to review the topics.

Grammar Review: 

1. Verb to be

  • Forms: am / is / are (present), was / were (past).
  • Use: to describe people, things, places, time, age, feelings.
    • I am a student.
    • She is happy.
    • They were at school yesterday.

 

2. Present Simple

  • Structure: Subject + base verb (+s/es in 3rd person).
  • Use: routines, facts, habits, schedules.
    • I go to school every day.
    • She plays the piano.
    • The sun rises in the east.

 

3. Present Continuous

  • Structure: Subject + am/is/are + verb + -ing.
  • Use: actions happening now, temporary actions, near future plans.
    • I am studying now.
    • They are playing football at the moment.
    • We are visiting my grandparents tomorrow.

 

4. Past Simple

  • Structure: Subject + past verb (regular: +ed / irregular form).
  • Use: completed actions in the past, specific time.
    • I watched a movie yesterday.
    • She went to the park last weekend.
    • They studied English last night.

 

5. Past Continuous

  • Structure: Subject + was/were + verb + -ing.
  • Use: actions in progress in the past, interrupted actions, background description.
    • I was reading when you called.
    • They were playing while it was raining.
    • He was sleeping at 10 pm.

 

 Quick tip to remember:

  • Simple tenses = finished or repeated actions.
  • Continuous tenses = actions in progress (now or in the past).
