PRESENT SIMPLE ( HE/SHE/IT)

 



Good morning my dear kids. before starting you are going to write third module on your notebook.

PRESENT SIMPLE (He / She / It)

 

When do we use the Present Simple?

We use the Present Simple to talk about:

  • Daily routines
  • Habits
  • Things that are always true

 Examples:

  • He eats breakfast at 7.
  • She plays the piano.
  • It runs fast. (It = the dog)

 

The rule for He / She / It

For he, she and it, we add -s to the verb.

Subject

Present Simple

I / you / we / they

eat

I eat breakfast.

he / she / it

eat

He eats breakfast.

 

Spelling Rules

1.  Most verbs → add -s

o   play → plays

o   read → reads

2.  Verbs ending in ch, sh, s, x, o → add -es

o   go → goes

o   wash → washes

o   fix → fixes

3.  Verbs ending in consonant + y → change y → ies

o   study → studies

o   fly → flies

 

Don't forget!

We do NOT use "do" with he/she/it in positive sentences.

He do homework.
He does homework.
